Wild and Weird Wedding Dresses
We've designed more styles, colours and designs of wedding dresses than we can count but we can't say we've ever been asked by a bride to design any of these styles in the pictures below. What do you think? Do any of these float your boat:
Which of these gives you the worst vibes?
Have a great week and happy wedding planning.
Many blessings,

Wedding Diet Death Traps You Should Avoid!
He thinks you are perfect just the way you are and would marry you at any weight but it’s not all about him, it’s also about feeling fabulous in that dream dress; or so you tell yourself.
I have perhaps met only a handful of brides who have no intention of losing weight to fit into their dream wedding dress. In reality, when about 50% of the brides I meet come back for their dress fittings, they have failed to do this.
This is blog post which has been influenced by an article in weddingideasmag.com explores what you are doing wrong and what you can do to achieve that dream size to dazzle in your dream wedding dress.
This may be counterproductive as natural fats found in many foods such as meat, cheese and nuts are important for a balanced and healthy diet. If eaten in moderation, they should not cause you to pile on the pounds excessively
What to Avoid: Man-made fats such as saturated, hydrogenated fats, trans-fats found in margarine, fast foods etc.
Oh dear, this is probably driving you mad as you find that you are constantly hungry and snacking on most likely very unhealthy foods in between meals. You tell yourself they are not real meals but the calories do add up. Zoe Harcombe, leading nutritionist and author says you are better off eating sensible and adequate portions of unprocessed foods, salads and brown rice. This will help you avoid those crazy cravings that send you to the biscuit cupboard every thirty minutes.
What to Avoid: Snacking on unhealthy or processed foods excessively in between your “ minuscule” meals.
3. You are eating less portions more times!
This provides another diet death trap as we intend to eat small portions more times during the day but we end up eating small portions of really unhealthy snacks that multiply our calorie intake unhealthily. Zoe states that it is better to eat your three square meals in healthy portions and containing the nutrients that would keep you filled up until the next meal.
What to Avoid: Grazing on crisps, cookies, cakes and drinking lots of coffee and tea to keep the hunger pangs at bay.
4. You have banned all forms of take away!
Ha, I’m laughing at this one as I have tried it before and it did not work. We all live such busy lives these day; both men and women and after a long day at work, the last thing on your mind is cooking. The trick here is to order smartly. Most restaurants now have calorie conscious options that you can choose from. Go for foods that are chicken or seafood based and come with lots of vegetables.
What to Avoid: Foods that are high in carbohydrates like white rice and dough based foods
5. You have gone on a No-Carb Diet!
Everyone has tried this at one point or another. It’s hard and can sometimes be dangerous as the body needs a daily dosage of complex carbohydrates to produce healthy and sustained energy levels. What you should do is reduce your intake of sugar and flour based foods and increase intake of vegetable, wholemeal bread, fibre based cereals and skimmed milk.
What to Avoid: Simple carbohydrates found in many sweet foods such as chocolates and cakes.
I wish you all the very best in your wedding diet efforts and would love to know if you have any hints or tips to add to these.
Many blessings,
Lisa xxx

Is Your Wedding Stressing You Out? Here's how to deal with it
![]() |
| Bride in Therapy Picture Borrowed from Lovemydress.net |
Stress comes with the territory when it comes to wedding planning. Its that desire for perfection for our big day that makes it so difficult to see things through rose tinted glasses rather than the total catastrophe that it seems like at the time.
There are ways to deal with this and I am now sharing some of the techniques I used to get through the issues that caused me the most stress during my wedding 4 years ago and I hope these help you too if you come across such matters.
Here goes...

| Estilo Moda Wedding Planning Checklists |
2. Create a checklist of things that you have to do before the day. This makes the daunting task of planning a wedding more manageable. It may seem overwhelming where you don't know what needs to be done, how to do it or when to do it but if you have a checklist, you can tick things off as you achieve them. Click Here to find our amazing checklist that we have created specially for you giving you timelines and providing you with all the tasks that are typical of wedding planning.

3. Make sure you choose bridesmaids and grooms men that will help and not hinder. The worst thing ever is to have bridesmaids that make your planning just awful. I have heard horror stories about bridesmaids that sabotaged weddings and made the bride's life a living hell. Choose your nearest and dearest and don't bow to family pressure regarding this matter.

My final tip is that you should remember throughout the whole planning process that the most important part of this is that you will be joined with the love of your life and everything else will pale in comparison. Everything will work out at the end and you'll have a fabulous day.
Very many blessings and happy planning.
Love,

We Love Lace Wedding Dresses! Do You?
Over the past year, we at Estilo Moda Bridal have seen the rise and rise of lace wedding dresses. 30 out of an average of 40 brides we see every week is requesting for a wedding dress designed with lace fabrics. It goes without saying that lace in its various forms is absolutely beautiful. Now don't get me wrong I have seen some lace fabrics that made me wonder 'whose idea was this' but from one fashion season to the next, lace has been found on the catwalks and in the look books of many a designer. Lace has also been featured on the wedding dresses of many royal brides such as our very own Kate Middleton who had a long sleeve, V-neck lace bodice on her very lovely wedding dress.
Check out some sketches of lace wedding dresses we have created in the past and would be designing in future collections. Tell us which ones you love and would love to see in our new Autumn/Winter collection which will celebrate all things lace.

How to Choose a Wedding Veil with Success
Many Girls have dreamt about wedding day since they were maybe 5 years old and some of them even put the entire wedding together long before they even get proposed to. When the time finally comes to plan the actual wedding, brides find out that there are millions and millions of choices for everything that she wants to include in her wedding. One of these is the wedding veil.
The wedding veil; most of the time comes as an afterthought after the bride has already selected her dress. Even though the veil historically was mostly used by brides getting married in a church, the veil is fast becoming very main stream. Do you know that the wedding veil originated from ancient Greece where people believed that the veil would protect the bride from evil spirits determined to steal her away from her groom before their happy joining in holy matrimony?
Anyway, back to the post. Most wedding veils are created with a soft sinewy tulle fabric and come in different edgings such as pencil, cut, satin trimmed or lace trimmed. You can also have a variety of embellishments on your veil such as lace appliques, rhinestones, swarovski crystals or pearls to give your veil the wow factor.
Wedding veils come in many different lengths and I have met many a bride who has been very confused regarding the different veil lengths and which ones will suit the wedding dress she has chosen. This article will focus on the most popular wedding veil lengths and the styles of wedding dresses each of them is best suited to.
Shoulder Length Veil - These are the shortest in length of all wedding veils and as the name describes, the edge of the veil will rest on your shoulders. The shoulder length veil looks amazing with 50s style tea length wedding dresses but ensure that you have your hair up. It looks a bit weird to have your hair peeking our from under a shoulder length veil. Check out Audrey Hepburn looking amazing in the picture below.

Elbow Length Veil - The elbow length veil is also sometimes referred to as the waist length veil. As the name describes, the hemline of this veil rests around your waist line mostly at around 25 inches from the comb to the hemline. This veil looks lovely on wedding dresses with longer bodices such as mermaid style or A- Line wedding dresses. Avoid wearing this style of veil with a ball gown that cinches in at the waist and flares out sharply into a big skirt.

Chapel Length Veil - The chapel length veil is a stunning length of veil that sits a few feet away from your legs at around 108 inches from the comb to the hemline. I love this length of veil because it looks amazing in pictures. Its long and wispy enough to look utterly romantic when it is lifted by the wind but its not so long that it becomes a bit clumsy and too heavy to do much with. The best part is that is also works with a wide range of wedding dress shapes and styles. My only advise is that if your dress is very busy, then go for a cut or pencil edge chapel length veil with little or no additional embellishments or give it a miss altogether and go for a more tempered style of veil. Check out this amazing picture I have borrowed to show you what it can do for your pictures.
